This is a well established area, and rented accommodation is not easily come by, making rental prices higher than in other areas. There are several corner shops offering the basic amenities, and take away’s. Winterbourne has a high Street with the traditional high street shops.

Transport

There is an excellent bus service to Bristol. If you have your own transport you are within easy access of M4, M5 and M32 to Bristol city centre at peak times can take 45 minutes but at normal times 15 minutes.

Filton College of further education can be found in the north east district of Bristol. There are a number of independent schools in the area including Tockington Manor near Rudgway and Silverhill at Winterbourne. The city of Bristol has its own university and medical school.

Sports and recreational facilities

Winterbourne library is located at Flaxpits Lane. There is also a sports club at Fromeside, Watleys End Road, that offers various clubs, weight training, martial arts, gymnastics, etc. A few minutes away from Coalpit Heath is Bitterwell Lake, which is a Council run fishing lake for angling enthusiasts.

The Frome Valley Walkway is delightful during all seasons, winding through beautiful country side.

There is a large selection of pubs throughout Coalpit Heath, Frampton Cotterell and Winterbourne all offering good food.
